Submissions and applications

The george foundation asks you to read the following information carefully before you submit an application.
The george foundation accepts applications and requests in the fields of photography, film, and media art. The george foundation does not see itself simply as a sponsor but as a project partner striving for a sustainable use of funds and the success of the project. The george foundation expects beneficiaries to carry out professional reporting and controlling.

The george foundation provides financial support only for projects that reflect the orientation and guidelines of the foundation. Before you submit a request, please check whether the project for which you are seeking funding meets the relevant criteria.

The george foundation does not provide funds for:
:: projects and events with a purely commercial background
:: events of a promotional nature
:: celebrations, action days or anniversaries
:: diploma projects and final examination projects (films)
:: seminars, lectures, symposia or conferences
:: top-up financing for the completion of projects and contributions
    for project development and contributions for project development.

The following procedure must be adhered to. Applications received by post or by email cannot be processed. This procedure is intended to spare you unnecessary inconvenience.


Procedure for the submission of applications

1. The applicant submits a brief description on this webpage. Please use our online application form for queries regarding financial support for projects. - Thank you!

2. The george foundation decides whether to reject or follow up the application within a month on the basis of the brief description.

3. If the preliminary decision is positive, at the request of the george foundation the applicant submits a detailed description of the project - preferably by email. This should include:
> particulars of the applicant
> a description of the project (content, aims)
> budget (incl. financing plan with an overview of inquiries,
    acceptances and rejections)
> timetable
> details of applications to other funding bodies (update desired)

4. The decision is based on the application, accompanied by detailed documentation, supplemented, in individual cases, by a personal interview. The foundation board makes a decision on the application at meetings that take place several times a year.

There is no entitlement to financial support from the george foundation. Reasons for rejection are not disclosed. For large grants, we conclude contracts or agreements with the project coordinators or the applicants. A final report must be submitted on completion of the project.
